Steven Flemming Jr., the site’s founder, is a Washington, D.C.-based music historian and writer. His work has appeared at Soul Summer, Soulbounce, Hip Online, D.C. Agenda and Fly Global Music. He has contributed historical essays for soul and disco reissues by artists including Cheryl Lynn, Wah Wah Watson and GQ. A former daily journalist, Flemming holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia and a Master of Liberal Arts degree from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
